"I had the pleasure of guest posting my Crush List for Katie's newsletter this week! 💖 Katie and I met in college and have stayed in each other's orbit for the last... 11 years?! since graduating. She's always been an inspiring person for me to catch up with, so I was honored she asked me to write a Crust List! My list was written after a recent solo-ish trip to New York City, so I catalogued all the crushable memories and moments I could remember. I hope you enjoy and I hope that it inspires to pen your own crush list! "

Crush List by Zoë Björnson

I recently spent a solo-ish weekend in New York City, a place I used to visit yearly as a teen and lived in a few times in my adult life. It was so soul-filling and had so many crushable moments. Here are a few of them.

  1. Making new memories in a place you used to call home.

  2. Apricity (stolen from Katie!)

  3. Not being in a rush.

  4. Not being in a rush in New York City.

  5. The feeling when childhood memories rush back.

  6. The old wooden escalators at Macy’s Herald Square.

  7. A festive department store.

  8. Doing the things that used to make you feel anxious with ease.

  9. The pretzel smell.

  10. Eating pizza standing up.

  11. Broadway shows.

  12. Being a theatre kid.

  13. 12,000+ steps.

  14. Stoops.

  15. Mosaics.

  16. Mosaics in subways.

  17. A solo trip to an art museum.

  18. Sitting at the bar, also solo.

  19. Being alone, but not lonely.

  20. Going home with a new coat!
